OUR MISSION IS TO:

-offer eco-correct tours that are fun and accessible for all ages and abilities

-treat our guests like friends who have come to share our lifestyle

-ensure guests feel safe, comfortable and welcome, in a respectful way

-ensure that our tour surpasses our guests expectations

-teach new skills while guests explore the tall ship sailing adventure

-promote appreciation, understanding and protection of the marine eco-system by imparting facts about marine history, wildlife, geology, and the environment in a fun and playful way

Mission statements are fairly trendy with everyone claiming to be eco-friendly so here's how we are living up to our claim!

CARBON FOOTPRINT:

•  we use less fuel in an entire season than a zodiac does on one whale watching tour

•  we use 'company bikes' for provisioning and deliveries  

RECYCLING:

•  THANE is built of all recycled and salvaged materials. What isn't recycled has been purchased with money made from recycling scrap metals including pop cans.

•  We minimize the use of plastics aboard. We provide utensils, glasses, plates etc.

•  We recycle all of our guest's plastics, paper and drink containers and compost their leftover foods.

•  We have a ticketless reservation system

•  We use thrift shops and swaps to avoid throwing away useful items and as a method of keeping stuff out of the landfill
